Recovered RAID 5 Data from HP Proliant Server

This organization is mandated to lead and co-ordinate international action to protect refugees and resolve refugee problems worldwide. They play an essential role in the protection of refugees and asylum seekers.

The Situation:

This organization was using RAID-5 configured on 4 SAS hard disk drive and the server suddenly stopped working. Since it was an HP ProLiant Server the engineer from HP visited their premises and diagnosed the server. There were total 3 Hard Drives (BAY-2,3 & 4) faulty out of 4 each hard drive was having the capacity of 300 GB. Disks-2nd & 3rd were failed & 4rth was showing as predictive Failure. Both the Disks BAY-2nd & 3rd are got faulty simultaneously so that Spare Disk could not be rebuilt. From the HP side, they were ready to replace all three drives & also ready to create a new RAID as per their requirement. Since HP never recover the data from defective media for its customer. The biggest challenge, in this case, was to find out the hot spare disk as neither the client nor HP engineer was aware of it.

The Solution:

All the 4 hard drives were collected from the customer premises the same day they approached us and brought to our lab for analysis purpose. We made a clone of all the hard drives including the two hard drives which were having detection issues. Head transplantation was done in both non-functional hard drives as the issues were with its head. Our RAID recovery team analyzed the disk order and found that only 3 hard drives were part of RAID 5 and 4th hard drives were used as a hot spare. We figured out stripe size and parity distribution and then recovered the data.

The Conclusion:

Techchef is the best Data Recovery Company. They recovered our data from the three crashed hard drives, which had a RAID configuration. The biggest challenge in our case was that RAID configuration was clear to us and one hard drive had broken head (which was broken on running condition so lot scratches were on the platter). We were using Microsoft SQL as backend in that server, so all the .bak and .ldf files were in those hard drives. The biggest issues with the SQL .bak files are they have the big brand like Stellar already in the market and your server data is lost. But TechChef had proved me correct, they revered my data within 10 days. First time when I met Mr Rakesh, all their positive approach made me go with them.
